Dr. Harpreet Atwal completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from York University majoring in Biology. She was the recipient of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences Silver Medal. This distinction is awarded to the graduating student who has combined outstanding academic achievement with the greatest contribution to undergraduate student life. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. After graduating, she gained a variety of experience working in several clinics in Northern and Southern Ontario.

Dr. Atwal was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She is happily married, and she and her husband have two beautiful children. In her free time, Dr. Atwal enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.
